Shelby M. Keefer, CPA 
Managing Partner
Shelby M. Keefer, CPA, Managing Partner of SKW CPAs, LLP, has been working in the accounting industry for over 25 years.
Shelby received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota in Business Administration – Accounting and has been a resident of Las Vegas since 1988.
Shelby is currently the treasurer of Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada. She has served as Vice-Chair of Finance for the North Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce and the North Las Vegas Chamber Foundation. She is a past President of the National Association of Women Business Owners – Southern Nevada Chapter.
She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Nevada Society of Certified Public Accountants and is a graduate of Leadership North Las Vegas.
She is a past recipient of the National Association of Women Business Owners, Woman of Distinction Award, the Small Business Association Small Business Advocate – Accountant for the State of Nevada Award, the Minority Purchasing Council Award, and was the first recipient of the North Star Award from the North Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce.
When not vacuuming up hair from her three Britney Spaniels, Shelby enjoys the outdoors and spending time with her husband on their farm in Missouri.
Kelly K. Welter, CPA
Partner
Kelly K. Welter, CPA has worked in public practice since graduating from Oregon State University and Agder Business College in Kristiansand, Norway in 1994 where she received dual bachelors’ degrees in Accounting and International Business.
She worked at two local firms in Oregon before moving to Las Vegas in 2002. She then worked as the tax manager at a local firm until going out on her own in 2005 and opened KKW & Associates, Inc. in Las Vegas, Nevada. The firm specialized in individual and business taxation as well as business consulting.
Kelly is a member of the Nevada Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Women’s Networking Group.
She currently serves on the Women’s Initiatives Executive Committee for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
In the past, Kelly has served in multiple positions on the National Board for the American Woman’s Society of Certified Public Accountants including National President in 2013-2014. She has also served as the Moms In Business Network Southern Nevada Leader, as Treasurer for Boys Hope Girl Hope – Nevada, as Treasurer for GNJ Family Life Center, as Treasurer for Dance Generation, and as Treasurer of the Rotary Club Las Vegas Summerlin.
Kelly currently lives in Las Vegas with her husband and four children. She spends most of her free time at baseball games, at dance competitions, playing with her dog, and educating on health and wellness using essential oils.
Sandy Ballocanag
Administrative Assistant
Sandy is from Hawaii and joined the SKW team in 2012. She greets our clients, mans the telephone and is the personal assistant to both partners. She has over 10 years of office administration experience.
Denise L. Gyenes
Tax Preparer
Denise is from Ohio and joined the SKW team in 2010. After working in the accounting industry for over 25 years, she retired as Office Manager in 2018. She will continue to work with our team as a Tax Preparer during tax season.
Susan Martin
Tax Preparer
Susan is from Northern Nevada and joined the SKW team in 2009. She is a seasonal employee and prepares business and individual income tax returns.
She is also a contract bookkeeper for several businesses in the Las Vegas valley and is proficient in all versions of QuickBooks. Susan has been working in the accounting industry for over 25 years.
Ryan T. Murphy
Staff Accountant
Ryan is from California and joined the SKW team in 2007. He performs accounting services and is proficient in all versions of QuickBooks. He also prepares business and individual income tax returns. Ryan has over 10 years of accounting experience.
